I am definitely warming to Scott's plan to someday move to the Southwest US.
Yes, it gets hot out there.
But you don't have to spend hours shoveling heat out of your driveway and off the streets.
And I've been to Vegas in August. I'll deal with the heat to enjoy the mountains and snow-free winters.

In beautiful Tennessee we have the seasons but we don't have to shovel! Actually, in the 9 years we've lived here we have had two big snows (12 inches) and we were in Florida both times! However, our snow only lasts about a day or two....pretty to look at and then it's gone!
