Twelve Years Ago Today...

My first love, my high-school sweetheart, my true love, my soulmate, my husband...thankfully for me, there is one man who is all these things to me. He protects me from my enemies, such as they are. He really sees me, when to most people I am invisible. He wants me to talk, when I would be silent. He loves me for who I am, yet encourages me to stretch and be someone greater. He is Scott and I am in love with him.

Twelve years ago today, I married this man. I had heard people say before that they loved their husband or wife more and more as the years went by. As a 20 year old bride, I had no idea what this meant. Now I do. There are things that I love about him now that didn't even exist then. He has done things for me over the years that have endeared him to me ten-fold.

The love Scott and I have for each other, our marriage, the life we have built...it's not something we fell into or found. It's a choice, every day, to love each other and to show it in a hundred little ways. I thank God every day that Scott and I are together. We are truly MFEO (made for each other).
