"Young lovers seek perfection.
Old lovers learn the art of sewing shreds together
and of seeing beauty in a multiplicity of patches."
- from How to Make an American Quilt
I remember seeing this movie and thinking at the time that this was a wise saying. For me this does not apply to my love life, since I have a husband who is all things to me.
This quote speaks to me about other things instead. Friendship. Career. Family. It's about many different pieces of things coming together to make a whole that is varied and captivating.
I may have one favorite color,

but how much more noticible and treasured is it when it's in contrast with other textures and colors around it?
