Forbearance

There's been a verse in my head for about a week and today I finally looked it up.

Philippians 4:5 -
Let your gentleness be evident to all. (NIV)
Let your forbearing spirit be known to all men. (NAS)

I know what gentleness is and that I often need to let God work on that in me. But I wasn't really sure what forbearing spirit meant, so I looked up forbear in the dictionary.

Forbear: To be tolerant or patient in the face of provocation.

Oooooh. You got me, Jesus. Good one. I'll chew on that for a while....
