We have no TV, no stereo, no CD or DVD player, no tables to eat on, no window treatments, we cancelled Netflix. And man, was it hot today!
Today, Monday, July 17, we:
1. Bought paint to paint the interior of our current house.
2. Painted four out of five rooms on the lower level, including ceiling and walls. Window trim and baseboards are planned for tomorrow, as well as painting the fifth room and possibly starting on the upstairs. (Nicole, the blue blotch is gone!)
3. Picked out new carpet and scheduled installation for Thursday.
4. Moved most of our furniture out to the garage.
Our helpers today were:
Dad Donnelly - painting, patching walls, minor plumbing.
Mom Donnelly - watching Bailey.
Jim and Phiona - painting.
Christopher and Desmond - painting and moving furniture.
Matthew and Earny - moving furniture.
Casualties:
A large drawing that I did in college, that Scott had framed for me a couple years ago, fell over due to the wind and the glass shattered. The drawing was of an open door and there's an Exit sign over it. I have determined that this was an attack of the enemy trying to tell me that he's going to sabotage the changes that are going on. But I am onto him and he will not win this time! God is in control and nothing can stop the good plans He has for us.
We had one inquiry about leasing the house today which is encouraging. We are planning on a househunting trip in Ohio later this week or this coming weekend.
We swam a couple times today, and Bailey lost his footing while playing fetch and fell in. Again. He falls in a couple times a month, I think, during the summer swim season. We need to get that boy some aqua-socks or something.
I hope to update this once a day while a lot's going on and less frequently when things slow down.
